  • Alternative non-ART pathways
  • Patient centred care and support
  • Confidentiality and the limits of the concept of confidentiality
  • Lifestyle guidance and behaviour/exposures, which may affect sperm function or improve treatment outcome
  • Non-licensed treatment options for example pharmaceutical options for control or limitation of conditions
  • Key factors in the couple’s case history and choice of treatment options
  • Cost effectiveness of assisted conception options
  • Managing patient expectations and understanding, including what is and is not a risk, and debunking myths
  • Intervention options appraisal, including risks and limitations
