- Relationship between the clinical question and the assessment methods available
- Clinical urgency
- Service planning, e.g. clinic specification, staffing and location
- Local capacity and waiting time issues
- Interaction with other parts of the patient pathway and involvement of the wider multidisciplinary providing care
