Diagnostic procedures:

  • Carbon 13 breath test
  • Smart pill
  • Wireless pH monitoring
  • EMG
  • Endo-anal ultrasound
  • Capsule enteroscopy
  • PNTML

 

Therapeutic procedures:

  • PTNS
  • Pressure biofeedback therapy
  • SNS
  • Trans anal irrigation

Evidence requirements

Evidence the observation or experience has been undertaken by the trainee.

Reflections on the observation or experience at two timepoints including contextualisation to the trainees own practice. E.g., for planned observations, a reflection before the observation and after, or for unplanned events a reflection one day after and another reflection a week later.

    • Patient pathways
    • Referral pathways
    • Infection control protocols
    • Principles for testing
    • Patient history
    • The application of the principles of patient centred care

    • Risks of tests and mitigation
    • Patient safety e.g., risk of test for patient with comorbidities or complex presentations
    • Documentation and record keeping
