Training activity information

Details

Shadow members of the multidisciplinary team managing data within cellular pathology departments and reflect on their role

Type

Observational training activity (OTA)

Evidence requirements

Evidence the observation or experience has been undertaken by the trainee.

Reflections on the observation or experience at two timepoints including contextualisation to the trainees own practice. E.g., for planned observations, a reflection before the observation and after, or for unplanned events a reflection one day after and another reflection a week later.

Considerations

  • Consider the data required by:
    • the laboratory, including collection and analysis of data on laboratory turnaround times
    • organisation level data collection to report to national targets
    • national reporting schemes, including cancer registries
  • Extraction of data by Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS) and other data management systems
  • Actions taken in response to data gathered
