Training activity information
Details
Follow a patient pathway which includes the contribution from medical physics from referral to future management, and reflect on the journey
Type
Observational training activity (OTA)
Evidence requirements
Evidence the observation or experience has been undertaken by the trainee.
Reflections on the observation or experience at two timepoints including contextualisation to the trainees own practice. E.g., for planned observations, a reflection before the observation and after, or for unplanned events a reflection one day after and another reflection a week later.
Considerations
- Appreciate the contribution of medical physics to the patient pathway
- Appreciate the patient experience undergoing investigation and/or treatment within medical physics
- Consider the interactions of other clinical specialties with medical physics and the patient journey
- Consider the:
- reasons for the medical physics procedure
- onward reporting processes
- Consider the processes required to adhere to legislation and guidance and maintain patient safety
- Appreciate the advance preparation and subsequent restrictions that may apply to patients undergoing medical physics procedures
