Evidence requirements

Evidence the observation or experience has been undertaken by the trainee.

Reflections on the observation or experience at two timepoints including contextualisation to the trainees own practice. E.g., for planned observations, a reflection before the observation and after, or for unplanned events a reflection one day after and another reflection a week later.

Considerations

  • Reflect on the primary trauma management and the secondary follow up/post op management
  • Consider the treatment pathways from emergency and primary care
  • Reflect on the patient management specific to traumag. Dental Core Trainees (DCT) in an A&E/trauma clinic to Consultant Surgeon intervention
  • Consider the diversity and aetiology of trauma
  • Reflect on the timing of treatment, including immediate and delayed intervention
  • Consider how patient safety, dignity and confidentiality are maintained
  • Reflect on the application of the principles of patient centered care
  • Reflect on the impact of trauma and treatment on the patient, relatives or carers
