Evidence requirements

Evidence the observation or experience has been undertaken by the trainee.

Reflections on the observation or experience at two timepoints including contextualisation to the trainees own practice. E.g., for planned observations, a reflection before the observation and after, or for unplanned events a reflection one day after and another reflection a week later.

Considerations

  • Reflect on their role, considering:
    • Infection control protocols
    • The use of imaging and intra-oral casts
    • Devices for dental and dental alveolar injuries
    • Communication between the multidisciplinary team
    • Differences in paediatric and adult treatment
    • Emergency work provision in a laboratory setting
    • Time management and time constraints
    • Manufacture protocols and device risk assessment
    • The application of the principles of patient centered care
    • How patient safety, dignity and confidentiality are maintained
