Observe a range of clinical presentations in an outpatient setting and reflect on the presentations, including:

  • Diabetic foot
  • Ulcers
  • Critical ischemia
  • Claudication

Evidence requirements

Evidence the observation or experience has been undertaken by the trainee.

Reflections on the observation or experience at two timepoints including contextualisation to the trainees own practice. E.g., for planned observations, a reflection before the observation and after, or for unplanned events a reflection one day after and another reflection a week later.

  • Reflect on the techniques in the context of your future training and role as a Clinical Scientist
  • Consider different types of interventions
  • Indications and contraindications for intervention procedures
  • Different roles of professionals involved in treatment and care
  • The patient experiences, communication
  • Reflect on the contribution of the vascular specialist nurse within these services
