Details
Perform allergy testing including all of the following (to be performed after observation of the procedure):
- skin prick test
- patch test
- oral challenge
- mast cell tryptase and histamine release assays
- ELISA/ImmunoCAP
- component-resolved diagnostics.
Considerations
- The pitfalls of the first three – largely clinical – assays currently performed by nurses/medics and how they relate to the laboratory assays used to investigate allergy.
- Contraindications to performance of clinical allergy testing.
- The laboratory protocols and procedures for the performance of allergy testing across the full range specified.
