Investigate the frequency and clinical presentation of the following community-based infections:
- genitourinary tract, including sexually transmitted infections and bacterial urinary tract
- respiratory tract
- gastrointestinal tract
- skin and soft tissue
- eye
- liver (hepatitis)
- postoperative/inoculation.
Considerations
- The epidemiology of these infections in the community.
- Clinical presentation of each of these infections.
- The importance of investigating and confirming the frequency of community-based infections and occasions on which this is required.
- The range of common and infrequent community-based infections and their significance for the population, service resources and communities.
