  • Local and national guidelines, legislation and epidemiology.
  • The role of the occupational health service and the clinical microbiology laboratory.
  • The reservoirs, sources, routes of transmission and portals of entry of common HAIs.
  • The epidemiology, clinical presentation and control of common and important multi-resistant organisms, including: MRSA, C. difficile, GRE, resistant Gram negatives.
