Details
Perform quality assurance and quality control tasks within the laboratory in the investigation of the following community-based infections:
- genitourinary tract, including sexually transmitted and urinary tract infections
- respiratory tract
- gastrointestinal tract
- skin and soft tissue
- eye
- liver (hepatitis)
- postoperative/inoculation.
Considerations
- The quality management system, including:
- validation
- internal quality control (IQC)
- internal quality assessment (IQA)
- external quality assessment (EQA) schemes, such as NEQAS audit.
- The increasing importance of point-of-care testing in the investigation of infection in the community, including food, water and the environment.
- Point-of care-technologies and their applications and role in these settings.
