Use a range of methods for the identification and collection of tissue and cellular preparations for the microscopic investigation of named common conditions, to include:
- needle biopsy
- surgical biopsy.
Considerations
- Dissection and sample preparation protocols for a wide range of invasive and non-invasive sample types and identification of the factors that influence the choice of invasive or non-invasive technique, e.g. smears, aspirates, biopsies, excisions, resections.
- Use of ultrasound to accurately identify biopsy site.
