Details
Attend a clinic with a cardiology setting where findings from an ambulatory ECG recording are used to inform the clinical management of a patient and reflect on the clinic
Type
Observational training activity (OTA)
Evidence requirements
Evidence the observation or experience has been undertaken by the trainee.
Reflections on the observation or experience at two timepoints including contextualisation to the trainees own practice. E.g., for planned observations, a reflection before the observation and after, or for unplanned events a reflection one day after and another reflection a week later.
Considerations
- For example an elderly care or neurology outpatient clinic
- Key findings of reporting e.g. duration, quality, underlying rhythm, presence of ectopic activity, tachycardias, bradycardias, pauses and conduction disturbances
- Reporting and reference to presenting patient symptoms
- Use of language for reporting for use by non-cardiac healthcare professionals
- Patient experience
- Patient safety
- Communication skills
- The requirements to deliver patient centred care and support
