Programme aim
To provide clinical scientist trainees with strong science-based, patient-centred clinical training in Clinical Scientific Computing and Data Science .
Programme level learning outcomes
Clinical Scientific Computing
- Critically analyse, process and manage data according to best practice and legislation to support effective patient care and service development
- Evaluate systems, applications, services and infrastructure for fitness for purpose and adherence to best practice and legislation
- Assess requirements and appraise options to identify solutions to meet the needs of services and stakeholders
- Apply project management methodologies to the development and deployment of solutions
- Design, develop and implement solutions to meet service and stakeholder needs
- Practice in accordance with legislation, ethics and best practice
- Employ specialist skills to the routine management of clinical computing systems
- Demonstrate effective communication with stakeholders and the multidisciplinary team
- Apply the principles of clinical computing in the management of patient data systems and medical devices used in patient care
- Evaluate research and innovation in order to implement new technologies in the use of clinical computing in healthcare provision
- Demonstrate a working understanding of the wider health and social context in which they practice, and patients experience care investigations and interventions
- Demonstrate an understanding of the physics and principles governing clinical computing and data management and the use of software as a medical device.

As employees of their host organisation, trainees are required to attend the workplace as required by their employer. Trainees are required to attend all sessions as specified by the Higher Education Institute. |
