Programme aim
To provide clinical scientist trainees with strong science-based, patient-centred clinical training in Blood Sciences.
Programme level learning outcomes
Haematology and Transfusion Science
- Outline strategies to investigate clinical presentations in haematology, haemostasis and transfusion science
- Analyse and interpret results of assays used to investigate clinical presentations in haematology, haemostasis and transfusion science
- Summarise investigative and management strategies for patients in the context of laboratory results and advise other Healthcare Professionals on the application of the strategy
- Practice in accordance with the standards and guidelines required for haematology, haemostasis and transfusion science
- Apply the principles of internal quality control and external quality assessment and draw conclusions about assay performance.
- Practice effectively in partnership with other clinical specialties and the wider multidisciplinary team to deliver safe and effective patient centered care
- Evaluate emerging technologies and clinical advances in the practice of haematology, haemostasis and transfusion science

As employees of their host organisation, trainees are required to attend the workplace as required by their employer. Trainees are required to attend all sessions as specified by the Higher Education Institute. |
