Programme aim
To provide clinical scientist trainees with strong science-based, patient-centred clinical training in Blood Sciences.
Programme level learning outcomes
Histocompatibility & Immunogenetics
- Apply the appropriate testing strategy for patients referred to H&I according to clinical context
- Perform the relevant laboratory investigations for a range of patients referred to an H&I laboratory
- Interpret test results and prepare clinical reports for a range of patients referred to a H&I laboratory
- Apply and adapt skills to communicate effectively with service users and multidisciplinary team.
- Practice effectively in partnership with service user, other clinical specialties and the wider MDT to provide a safe and effective H&I service
- Appraise new and emerging technologies and clinical advances in the practice of H&I
- Practice in accordance with quality management and accreditation standards

As employees of their host organisation, trainees are required to attend the workplace as required by their employer. Trainees are required to attend all sessions as specified by the Higher Education Institute. |
