Programme aim
To provide clinical scientist trainees with strong science-based, patient-centred clinical training in Clinical Pharmaceutical Science.
Programme level learning outcomes
Pharmaceutical Science
- Practice, applying a critical understanding of core scientific and regulatory knowledge, within the areas of;
- Pharmaceutical Regulations
- Pharmaceutical Quality Assurance
- Formulation of medicinal products
- Manufacture of medicines
- Aseptic preparation of sterile medicinal products
- Manufacture and preparation of radiopharmaceuticals
- Quality Control
- Evaluate and apply pharmaceutical quality management system policies and procedures and the principles of quality risk management
- Critically analyse issues which arise in the delivery of Pharmaceutical Science services, justifying investigative strategies, identifying and mitigating clinical impact
- Practice effectively in partnership with the wider multidisciplinary team and stakeholders to deliver safe, patient centered Pharmaceutical Science services
- Apply effective communication with stakeholders of the Pharmaceutical Science service using a variety of methods.
- Plan, manage and lead effectively on the requirements of a Pharmaceutical Science service within the context of the NHS

As employees of their host organisation, trainees are required to attend the workplace as required by their employer. Trainees are required to attend all sessions as specified by the Higher Education Institute. |
