Considerations
- Ethical theory vs ethical governance.
- Different frameworks for thinking about ethics (e.g. normative ethics, consequentialism, deontology, bioethics).
- Professional codes of conduct (e.g. AGNC, GCRB and HCPC and their standards of proficiency for clinical practice).
- How an individual’s beliefs and values may influence their response to genetic testing.
- How an individual’s beliefs and values in relation to genetic counselling and/or testing can contribute to delivering better quality genetic counselling to them.
